Amsterdam, NL Our new favorite treat: stroop wafels. YUM!! What represents A’dam better than a parking garage full of bicycles. It holds over 2,500! A true Amsterdam “Kodak moment:” churches, classic houses, and the canal. The ornate and stunning Central Station, make even more striking by these beautiful clouds. Here is a close-up of one of the clock towers; so pretty! The famous flower market, filled with countless colors of tulips. This shop was especially charming with a ceiling made of dried flowers. This Dutch specialty, apple pie, was a must eat treat from Cafe Winkel. Even this dessert enthusiast could not finish the whole thing! While wandering through the market, this cheese stand seemed so quaint and Dutch that I wanted to take a picture. Although smelly and gross, this fish stand at the market seemed like a perfect little slice of Dutch daily life. The Municipal Archives, Gemeentelijke Archief: I love the Dutch architecture that you see here in the pointy windows and gold clock. At the Bibliotheek restaurant La Place, the view was spectacular, even though the weather was a little bleh. The world renowned Rijks Museum, home to many spectacular paintings and exhibits was just as impressive on the outside as it was on the inside. Two things I like about A’dam: the pulley hooks that you see on all of the buildings and roses growing up the sides of the brick buildings. Shutters on the canal house The impressive windmill above the brewery Josh dragged me to. I loved the view, he loved the beer! This Coca-Cola advertisement, already creative, was so much more interesting with the reflection of the clouds and buildings in the background. Share this:TwitterFacebookLike Loading...
